Design Consultations: How Do They Work?
Here at Richard Burbidge, we’re proud to offer Design Consultations to our customers to help you get the best out of our products. However, we know that the idea of design consultations can often raise questions. Questions like what is a Design Consultation anyway? Is this a free tool? Who will be assisting me with my design queries and how can they help?
So, we wanted to explain the whole process in the below step-by-step guide, to show you how our Design Consultations can help take your next project to the next level.
How Richard Burbidge Design Consultations work
How to request a Design Consultation
You can request a free Design Consultation via our online website form here. On the Design Consultation form, you can outline whether you’re looking at a stairparts or outdoor project so we can arrange for the best team to help..
We always ask that you provide a few images of the area you’re looking to renovate or install our products, just so we can get a better idea of the best way to progress and provide accurate quotes.
We’ll also ask you to select the particular collection you’re interested in, but if you’re undecided yet, that’s fine – we can help! You can also check out our Inspiration Gallery for some initial ideas.
What happens when you request a Design Consultation
Once you submit the form, your project submission will be received by our technical team. Once we’ve got it, one of our dedicated design and product experts will take a look at your enquiry within 2 working days. They may also follow up for further details if required - for example to learn more about your project or to understand the type of products that will work best.
Getting a Design Consultation quote
After our team has reviewed your form and got all the information they need, a member of the Richard Burbidge technical team will then produce a quote for you with relevant technical notes and images.
This quote helps to make the process super simple for you, showing you everything you’ll need in terms of products and steps. We can also provide further design options if you’re still undecided and need a bit more guidance or inspiration.
You will then also receive a parts list with links to fitting instructions and any test reports you may need to carry out.
After you’ve received your Design Consultation quote
Throughout the ordering, delivery and installation process, our team is still on hand to help you through every step of the process. Your dedicated Richard Burbidge expert will be able to answer any questions you have along the way quickly and efficiently via email or phone.

Top Factors to Consider Before Renovating your Staircase One of the most integral parts of a home is the staircase, when designing a home the location of the staircase determines the layout of the entire property. The staircase is the central design focus and a new stairway has the ability to transform your home from the aesthetics to the flow in your house. If you are looking to improve your interior space, a stair renovation may be for you. Here are some of the top factors to consider when looking to renovate your stair space. Interior Décor The staircase plays an integral part in enhancing the décor of your property. When you walk into a home your eyes go immediately to the staircase, the centrepiece and central design focus of the home. There is a staircase design to suit everyone, from glass to timber to metal balusters, every homeowner can find a design to match their interior vision. High Quality A well designed and well maintained staircase and balustrade can last for a lifetime without needing to be replaced. A good quality stair balustrade will ensure fitting is quick to complete and stays in top condition. Adding Value One of the many perks of choosing to renovate your staircase is that you will add a great deal of value to your home, to both the prospective buyers, and the monetary value. An up to date and current stair design will attract possible buyers to your property, increasing the demand and value. Safety Safety should be one of your top considerations when looking to renovate your staircase, it’s important to choose a company that is transparent about the testing and safety credentials their products hold.
