UK homeowners willing to spend £1,950 and above on a hallway makeover, new research shows

Whilst attending the Homebuilding & Renovating show at the NEC Birmingham in March, we took the opportunity to carry out end-user research, highlighting the current wants and needs of the visitors attending the event.

The statistics revealed that over 61% of visitors had heard of Richard Burbidge prior to the show, showcasing a high level of brand awareness within the renovation industry. Furthermore, 75% of visitors to the stand were interested in transforming their staircase or wanting to fulfil a complete hallway makeover.

In terms of budgeting, 36% of attendees placed a value of £1,950 and above for a staircase renovation project, whilst just 15% had a stricter budget of under £950. This shows that consumers are currently willing to invest considerably in return for a high quality staircase refurbishment, with many clearly understanding the financial value that a staircase refurbishment can add to their home.

The research also highlighted that the majority of participants were in the market to complete a hallway renovation project in the next 6 months or so. With this in mind, there’s a suggestion that homeowners are putting a greater importance on the hallway, due to its position as the ‘first impression’ of the home. The timescale also indicates that homeowners want to plan well in advance to make sure they make the most out of their makeover.
