Introducing the new Richard Burbidge Stair Style collection – where design inspiration meets exceptional craftsmanship.
For over 150 years, Richard Burbidge has helped homeowners, joiners and retailers create beautiful staircases that stand the test of time. Today, we're excited to launch Stair Style – a fresh new approach to staircase design that makes it easier than ever to create a stairway that's not just functional, but a true reflection of your interior style.
More Than a Staircase
A staircase is one of the first features people notice when they enter a home. It connects spaces, influences the flow of interiors, and can make a powerful style statement.
With Stair Style, we've brought together our most popular stair systems, latest innovations and current interior design trends into one inspirational collection that helps customers create stairways that complement their homes perfectly
Whether your style is minimalist, contemporary, traditional or somewhere in between, Stair Style offers a solution designed to elevate your space.
Designed Around Today's Interior Trends
The Stair Style collection showcases a range of trend-led design concepts, including:
Nordic Simplicity
Clean lines, natural tones and understated elegance combine beautifully with our innovative Pürra® stair system. Perfect for modern homes seeking a calm, Scandinavian-inspired aesthetic.
Coastal Living
Soft curves, airy colours and flowing forms create a relaxed, seaside-inspired atmosphere using the Pürra® system and Runa spindles
Art Deco Revival
Bold geometric patterns meet contemporary materials with our Elements® Loop metal balusters and oak stair components, delivering a dramatic statement staircase.
Japandi
Combining Japanese minimalism with Scandinavian functionality, this enduring trend creates warm, uncluttered spaces using our Trademark collection.
Serene Sanctuaries
Featuring Elements® inset glass panels, this style maximises light and openness while creating a calm, restorative environment.
Meet Pürra® – The Future of Stair Renovation
At the heart of the new collection is Pürra®, the UK's first full modular timber stairparts system.
Designed for speed, simplicity and style, Pürra® dramatically reduces installation time by cutting the number of saw cuts required from more than 100 to fewer than 10. Precision-engineered components and slot-in spindle technology create a cleaner, faster and more efficient installation process.
Sustainability at Every Step
As a business, sustainability has always been central to what we do.
A significant proportion of our timber is FSC® or PEFC certified, supporting responsible forest management around the world. Many of our products are manufactured at our Chirk facility in North Wales, and our ISO 14001 certification demonstrates our commitment to environmental responsibility.
In 2024, Richard Burbidge was proud to receive the King's Award for Enterprise for Sustainable Development, recognising our ongoing investment in responsible manufacturing and sustainable business practices.

Top Factors to Consider Before Renovating your Staircase One of the most integral parts of a home is the staircase, when designing a home the location of the staircase determines the layout of the entire property. The staircase is the central design focus and a new stairway has the ability to transform your home from the aesthetics to the flow in your house. If you are looking to improve your interior space, a stair renovation may be for you. Here are some of the top factors to consider when looking to renovate your stair space. Interior Décor The staircase plays an integral part in enhancing the décor of your property. When you walk into a home your eyes go immediately to the staircase, the centrepiece and central design focus of the home. There is a staircase design to suit everyone, from glass to timber to metal balusters, every homeowner can find a design to match their interior vision. As the staircase is the first part of your home guests see upon entering, it really sets the tone for the décor style of the rest of the house. High Quality A well designed and well maintained staircase and balustrade can last for a lifetime without needing to be replaced. A good quality stair balustrade will ensure fitting is quick to complete and stays in top condition. Adding Value One of the many perks of choosing to renovate your staircase is that you will add a great deal of value to your home, to both the prospective buyers, and the monetary value. An up to date and current stair design will attract possible buyers to your property, increasing the demand and value. Safety Safety should be one of your top considerations when looking to renovate your staircase, it’s important to choose a company that is transparent about the testing and safety credentials their products hold. At Richard Burbidge all of our stair systems are put through a series of rigorous tests and assessments by FIRA, the recognised authorities in timber product testing, ensuring our products stand the test of time and comply with all the necessary domestic building regulations for your safety. We can confidently say our stair systems are top of the range safety. Experts When installing your new stair system make sure to hire a reputable fitter if you are not confident in installing yourself.
